We’re thrilled to announce that Derrick Brooks, Executive Vice President of Corporate and Community Development at Vinik Sports Group, has joined Embarc Collective’s Board of Directors.

Derrick is a natural addition to our board. His career reflects excellence in leadership, business, and community building, qualities that align seamlessly with our mission to support ambitious entrepreneurs. While many know him for his Hall of Fame football career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Derrick has gone on to build an equally impressive legacy off the field. He has served in executive leadership roles across workforce development, sports media, and community impact, and today he leads corporate and community development at Vinik Sports Group.

Derrick’s influence in Tampa Bay runs deep. He is the President and Founder of Derrick Brooks Charities, dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for youth, and Co-Founder of Brooks-DeBartolo Collegiate High School, the region’s first traditional charter high school. He also contributes his expertise through service on numerous boards, including Kforce, Florida State University, the Florida Department of Education Foundation, Saint Leo University, and the Florida State Fair Authority.

Derrick’s proven leadership, passion for education, and dedication to strengthening the Tampa Bay community will bring invaluable perspective to Embarc Collective as we continue to grow Florida’s startup ecosystem. We are proud to welcome him to our Board of Directors.
