Welcome to our Featured Founder series, where you’ll meet startup founders from Tampa-St. Petersburg who are building and scaling their ventures to solve some of the world’s greatest challenges. We interviewed Alexander Rolinitis of Cyberjin, an autonomous recruiting ATS for GovCon and IT.

What were you doing previously and what inspired you to launch your company?

I started 7 years ago as an intern working for a government defense contractor in Tampa Bay. Through recruiting IT professionals into the company, I personally experienced tremendous inefficiencies in the targeting, engagement, and hiring process which inspired me to create a new system to make the old way of doing recruitment obsolete. We started Cyberjin 6 years ago.

What pain point is your company solving? What gets you excited to go to work every day?

There are more job applications and data than ever before to process for a recruiter with less time and increasing pressure to produce hires. Cyberjin is an emerging AI technology that works with ATS systems to layer advanced data correlation for faster candidate-job placements. We provide a talent database, automate matching and engagement for teams to get to the perfect candidate faster. We accelerate your ability to attract, retain and motivate teams to accomplish great things.

Name the biggest challenge you faced in the process of launching the company. How did you overcome it?

The biggest challenge as an entrepreneur is facing failure, setbacks, and disappointments over and over again for years without a guarantee of success. It’s brutal. Having a personal mantra to refer to when things are dark, networking to open new doors, and never giving up have helped me overcome obstacles on my way.

Where do you see your company headed next?

Our focus is on shaping the future of autonomous recruiting, striving to automate every aspect before and after human interaction to enable seamless connection.

Give us a tactical piece of advice that you’d share with another founder just starting out.

You have no idea how much you don’t know. Start interviewing people, hire fractional experts, and pay down the debt of learning. Not having the right approach is the major wall to the summit.

Why Tampa Bay?

Tampa Bay is where I grew up. To my surprise, after getting started in the government contracting industry it’s a major command post for the military having SOCOM and CENTCOM here. Quality of life, outdoors, social activities, and the network of entrepreneurs here at Embarc Collective have been a tremendous help to me.
