Exploring Care Delivery Through AI at the Q3 Tampa Bay Healthtech Meetup
Last week, Embarc Collective partnered with TGH Ventures to host our latest Tampa Bay Healthtech Meetup, where we gathered innovators, entrepreneurs, and healthcare leaders for a thoughtful discussion on Care Delivery Through AI.
In a discussion moderated by Daniella Diaz, VP of Revenue & marketing at Lumina AI, Dr. Wedni Goodson-Celerin, Vice President & Chief Nursing Executive at the Florida Health Sciences Center at Tampa General Hospital, Dr. Jaimie Weber, Associate Medical Informatics Officer at Tampa General Hospital, and Dr. Jeff Langmaid, CEO & Founder of Embarc Collective member company, Read My MRI, shared powerful insights on how artificial intelligence can shape the future of care. The conversation wasn’t just about possibilities—it was about practical approaches to designing healthtech that can truly work for patients, providers, and health systems alike.
Key themes that surfaced during the discussion included:
- The importance of involving end users early. Patients and care teams know the real problems that need solving. Their voices must inform how new solutions are developed.
- The reality that change in healthcare is difficult. For innovations to take hold, they must be designed for easy adoption and seamless integration into existing workflows.
- The need to build for real-world use cases. The best technologies are those that meet people where they are, enabling them to trust their healthcare providers, and adapt to the environments in which care is actually delivered.
These principles serve as a guide not only for AI applications, but for healthtech innovation more broadly. They remind us that transformation happens when solutions are built with empathy, practicality, and a focus on the end user.
We are fortunate to have companies like Read My MRI in our community, who are continuing to push the needle by leveraging AI to further their mission to help people better understand their imaging and diagnosis. Learn more about Read My MRI, here.
Events like this reinforce what makes Tampa Bay such a dynamic place for healthtech innovation: a community that is collaborative, future-focused, and committed to reimagining the way care is delivered.
