Welcome to our Ecosystem Highlight series, where you’ll meet the innovators in our vast ecosystem of startup builders from across Florida, who are actively solving some of the world’s greatest challenges. We interviewed Natalie Womack, Founder of Clarify, a real-time communication intelligence platform that helps people pause, reflect, and rewrite messages before sending to reduce conflict and improve communication.

What were you doing previously, and what inspired you to join, launch, or help grow your company?

For more than 20 years I built a career in insurance and business development, where I saw firsthand how communication and decision-making impact relationships, trust, and outcomes. Through my own life experiences, I realized that many of our biggest regrets happen in moments of emotional reactivity. That led me to build Clarify, an AI-powered communication layer that helps people pause, reflect, and communicate more intentionally before they hit send.

What pain point is your company solving? What gets you excited to go to work every day?

Clarify helps people interrupt emotionally reactive communication before it creates unnecessary conflict. Instead of trying to repair damage after the fact, I want to help people make better decisions in real time. What excites me most is the opportunity to build technology that protects relationships, careers, and reputations while creating a healthier way for people to communicate in an increasingly digital world.

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced in helping build or scale the company? How did you overcome it?

The biggest challenge has been building a technology company as a first-time solo founder without a traditional technical background. I overcame it by committing to continuous learning, surrounding myself with experienced advisors and developers, protecting my intellectual property early, and staying focused on customer feedback rather than trying to build everything at once.

Where do you see your company headed next?

My immediate focus is growing adoption of Clarify and continuing to refine the product through real user feedback. Long term, I see Clarify becoming an everyday communication layer that helps people make better decisions across messaging, email, workplace communication, and eventually throughout the broader digital ecosystem. My goal is to establish a new standard for intentional communication powered by AI.

Give us a tactical piece of advice that you’d share with someone building or growing a company.

Don’t wait until you feel qualified to start. Build something people can react to, protect your intellectual property early, and ask for feedback before you think you’re ready. Progress comes from iteration, not perfection.

Why Florida?

Florida has become one of the most exciting places to build a technology company. The state’s growing startup ecosystem, access to founders, investors, and innovation organizations like Embark Collective make it an ideal place to scale. I’m excited to contribute to that ecosystem while building a company that can have national and global impact.
